Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A chopper hovering near a well-attended southern California coastline abruptly started spinning out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm trees as onlookers looked on.
Recordings shared on social media depict the chopper commencing to spiral above the shoreline then descending near the border of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palms and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the crash on the weekend.
Three people on the street were hurt. Details on their injuries were not yet released.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
